What is “HiFi”? Hi Fi is short for high fidelity. The reproduction of a quality sound (music) using an amplifier such as a receiver, integrated amp or pre amp with a power amp, then a source; cd/dvd player, turntable, iPod, or your computer and a pair of speakers. Hi Fi components are available in many styles, price ranges and levels of quality. The higher quality of the components, amplifiers & source – the better your speakers will sound.
Sound World feature many choices in stereo equipment that cover a wide range of products to meet various budgets. Our goal is to offer our customers the “Best Value” available! “Best Value” is defined as the best possible performance at the Best Possible price.
Audio components can be classified in 3 Categories: Basic – Better – Best. What determines the levels is in the quality of parts used, the overall design integrity of the components, build quality and of course the sonic signature of the particular piece of electronics. Basic Hi-Fi gear is the best way to get into the hobby of music enjoyment. Value priced gear that is built well and performs at the satisfying level. Electronics placed in the “Better” category are really where the value or bang for the buck idea can come to shine. These Products really give you huge performance and musical value far greater than those in the Basic category and get you 70-90% of the performance of the “Best” or cost no object category. The Best products in the Hi-Fi world will give you an experience like no other, huge dynamics, the smallest details the greatest sense of real music.
All components make sacrifices to hit a particular price point. For example a stereo receiver combines in one chassis the pre amplifier section (inputs & outputs, tone controls, volume control) along with a power amp and built in tuner. This must be all installed on one chassis. Whereas, on an Integrated amplifier or an individual power amp with a matching preamplifier much higher quality can be included because they are in individual chassis and a higher level of parts can be used. Bigger power supplies, higher grade of electronic parts all help determine better sounding components. Naturally, separate components will cost more than a single stereo receiver.
